Job Description

Mission: Nashoba Brooks School educates children for a life of continuous learning, accomplishment, and leadership in a diverse and changing world. The School nurtures students’ growth and character, while fostering the development of each child’s personal excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts.

Summary: The director of educational technology and innovation is a full-time, 12-month position. The director of educational technology and innovation reports to the head of school, serves as a member of the Administrative Leadership Team, and is responsible for instructional integration of technology in Preschool through Grade 8 and related professional development for employees.

  • Serve as an instructional leader in the School, working to advance the School’s mission and philosophy.
  • Serve as a member of the Administrative Leadership and Campus Health and Safety Teams.
  • Manage supervision of the IS Team including the librarian and transliteracy integration specialist, library and transliteracy integration specialists, and instructional technologist.
  • Oversee coordination of technology integration and IS curriculum scope and sequence.
  • Design and implement comprehensive programs for curriculum design and professional development to support outstanding technology integration, responsible use, and continuous learning.
  • Model creativity, innovation, and both deep and broad thinking about teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to initiate and support technology integration, design-based thinking, and flexible problem-solving.
  • Design and launch new initiatives including possible auxiliary programming opportunities.
  • Work closely with the School’s IT network support company to ensure proactive planning, smooth and consistent operation of hardware, secure systems, timely upgrades, efficient support, and effective troubleshooting.
  • Oversee the School’s information security program and policy.
  • Oversee inventory and maintenance of instructional equipment, phones, databases, replacement cycles, capital expenditures, and PPRRSM expenses.
  • Work closely with the director of finance and operations to manage the IS budget.
