Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
The position for Corporate Space Management & Planning is a full-time, professional position primarily responsible for providing, space management, planning and furnishing solutions that meet the goals and objectives of the business.
  • This position will interface with the business units and will use their knowledge of space management and planning to develop executable floor plans to support corporate objectives
  • Maintain space management database and electronic drawing records to support Occupancy and Use reporting requirements
  • Provide space plans to meet the needs, maximize safety, efficiency and effectiveness and provide test fits and layout options as needed
  • Perform periodic field verifications of assigned space.
  • Manage approved office furniture purchases and installations at Wichita facilities
  • Manage design development and coordinate implementation plans of various refresh and new construction projects
  • Manage and maintain design criteria, standards and finishes library
  • SPACE PLANNING: Drive schedule for data collection, compilation, and analysis of existing space plans and occupants
  • MOVE MANAGEMENT: Develop and execute move plans for personnel and equipment with other support departments
  • SERVICE TICKET COORDINATION: Receive service requests from MAXIMO and schedule and coordinate necessary solutions; e.g. purchasing additional furnishings, scheduling vendor to perform repair work, new installation, reconfiguration, etc.
  • INTERIOR DESIGN: Develop scaled plans and 3D graphic renderings of proposed lay-outs and provide high graphic quality presentations when needed
  • ANNUAL FF&E REPAIR & MAINTENANCE: Develop an annual budget for repair and/or replacement of the business furnishings based on on-going site assessment and inspections.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent educational background in Business, Interior Design, Project Management or similar related disciplines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with employees and managers
  • Current understanding and application of commercial furniture and fixtures
  • Experience reading and creating plans, furniture layouts, and graphic presentations
  • Successful candidates will possess significant knowledge of programming, design and documentation processes, procedures and standards
  • Position also requires a proven ability to rely on extensive knowledge and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Must lead, direct and coordinate various projects and perform a variety of tasks, with creativity, organization and follow through
  • Ability to develop detailed presentation documents
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite is important

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business, Interior Design, Project Management or similar field of study is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in space planning, architecture/design, project management or corporate furnishings sales a plus
  • Prior FaciliCAD and AutoCAD experience a plus

Summary Pay Range - Associate (Level 2): $57,850 - $88,650
