What you'll be challenged to do:

GFT infrastructure is seeking a Digital Delivery Specialist - Physical Design to support the continued advancement of digital delivery capabilities within our Power Delivery business, with a focus on Substation Physical Design and BIM-enabled workflows.

This person will focus on executing digital delivery initiatives at the direction of the Digital Delivery Manager. This position will support efforts to improve design workflows, build and maintain BIM libraries and standards, and increase adoption of 3D modeling and digital delivery tools across Substation Physical Design teams.

This role will work closely with Digital Delivery and Operations Leadership to translate strategy into execution by supporting the models, libraries, standards, and workflows that enable faster, more consistent and higher-quality design delivery.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Digital Delivery Execution
    • Execute digital delivery initiatives at the directions of the Digital Delivery Manager
    • Support the implementations of 3D modeling and BIM-enabled workflows within Substation Physical Design teams
    • Assist in improving how design work is structured, coordinated and delivered using modern digital tools
  • 3D Modeling, BIM & Workflow Advancement
    • Support and improve use of 3D modeling environments, BIM workflows, Autodesk Inventor and Revit
    • SDS tools and related design platforms
  • Libraries, Standards & Design Content
    • Support development and maintenance of 3D model and BIM libraries templates, standards, and design content
    • Assist in refining GFT Power design standards and modeling workflows
    • Improve consistency in models, drawing outputs, file structures and naming conventions
  • Automation & AI-Enabled Efficiency
    • Support development of macros and automation for modeling and drafting workflows
    • Assist in applying AI-enabled tools to improve modeling efficiency, accelerate setup and reduce manual effort
    • Identify opportunities to increase speed, consistency, and repeatability across design workflows
  • Tool Adoption, Training & Documentation
    • Support adoption of 3D modeling tools, BIM workflows and digital delivery practices across project teams
    • Assist with troubleshooting tool and workflow issues
    • Support onboarding, training and documentation of standards and best practices
    • Maintain organized
What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Substation Physical Design or Drafting/3D Modeling/Design Production
  • Hands on experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or Revit (BIM environments)
  • Experience working directly on design production and modeling for engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of how design progresses from concept through deliverables
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Substation Physical 3D design strongly preferred
  • Experience developing or working with SDS tools, BIM coordination or model-based project workflows, BIM libraries, templates, and standards
  • Automation (macros, scripting, rule-based tools)
  • AI-enabled tools applied to design or delivery workflows
