Job description

Description Under the direct supervision of Park Management, the DCPRD Park Operations Aide will perform various duties at park facilities operated by Dorchester County Parks and Recreation Department. This is to include, but not limited to day-to-day management, staff supervision, providing information to the public, performing administrative duties, and customer service. This position requires early morning/late night, weekend and holiday work.

This post has been extended. Duties General Responsibilities Assists in the day-to-day operation of assigned park facilities. Supervises and assists Park Attendants in the performance of their duties.

Communicates with supervisors and coworkers on a regular basis regarding park operations status or issues. Works with other divisions and staff as applicable to maintain efficient operations. Responds to special requests, complaints, and suggestions from park visitors in an effective manner.

Office Responsibilities Conducts attendance/revenue data collection. Responsible for completing daily deposits of revenues generated. Operates a register and computer software applications, takes reservations, and conducts pass sales.

Assists in the development and implementation of ongoing staff training and incentive programs. Assists in the ordering, merchandising, and inventory control of retail items. Submits written or oral reports as needed to include, but not limited to: incident reports, inventory reports, weekly progress report, cash control incident reports and revenue reports.

Grounds/Activities Responsibilities Responsible for the cleanliness and general upkeep of park facilities. Participates in the set up/breakdown and implementation of park special events. Ensures that all activities and operations are conducted in accordance with established procedures and policies.

Enforces rules, safety regulations and general facility rules for the visitors. Notifies proper authorities regarding violations or safety concerns. Responds to and take appropriate action and care in emergency or unusual situations.

Qualifications Candidates must be at least 17 years of age. Must attend and successfully complete all training programs deemed necessary by DCPRD. Additional Requirements Must possess a valid state driver's license.

First aid and CPR certification preferred.
