Job description

Description Target Audience - High school seniors in Dorchester County who intend to enter the workforce immediately following graduation. To provide a foundational understanding of municipal operations, cultivate essential workplace skills, and introduce participants to career opportunities within Dorchester County Government. Duties Every intern is paired with a dedicated mentor within their host department.

This mentor provides professional guidance, daily support, and continuous performance feedback throughout the program. Qualifications Must currently be enrolled as a high school Senior in Dorchester County. Submit a formal application.

Provide one letter of reference from a teacher, counselor, or principal. Successfully complete the formal interview process with Dorchester County staff. Timeline: 20-week program running from January through May.

Commitment: Minimum of 8 hours per week; maximum of 20 hours per week (up to 400 total hours). Additional Requirements E.O.E.
