99-26 Library Aide: Provide quality library services to the public and perform activities related to circulation of library materials. This position reports directly to the Circulation Services Supervisor. Perform circulation desk duties including checking materials in and out of the library. Register library borrowers and process library card applications. Maintain confidentiality of library users' records. Operate circulation functions of library automation system. Maintain registration files on computer. Interpret and explain registration and circulation policy. Assist the public, on the phone or in person, on the use, availability and status of library materials. Receive payment for fines and interlibrary loans by cash, check, or credit card. Process overdue notification letters. Assist customers with operation of library catalog and databases, computers, and photocopier equipment. Stock circulation desk with supplies. Assist in maintaining library materials; i.e. cleaning, reshelving, collecting, tabulating, mending and repairs. Assist with reading shelves to maintain proper order of collection. Interact with customers and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Perform opening and closing procedures.
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week scheduled at various times including weekends and evenings.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, library experience preferred and a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
Starting Rate: $12.34 per hour.
