ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Library Media Center Management
  • Develop and manage the school library media center collection
  • Manage library technology resources and digital learning platforms
  • Curate and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and age-appropriate library collection
  • Manage library budgets and resources
  • Instructional Responsibilities
  • Deliver weekly direct instruction to students in Kindergarten through Grade 3
  • Teach 45-minute library and information literacy classes for each grade level
  • Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that fosters a love of reading, digital citizenship, and research proficiency, while also incorporating a foundational Computer Science unit aligned with Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) standards

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Massachusetts School Library Media Specialist Initial or Professional License (All Levels)
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification
  • Strong understanding of early childhood and elementary educational practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educators and students
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
