Provo City is seeking a Circulation Services Specialist to perform technical, administrative operations and supervisory work assisting with the supervision of multiple library circulation operations. The single position allocated to this classification is responsible to a Senior Librarian and performs assigned tasks under general supervision. This work is distinguished from lower-level work by its responsibility to assist with the supervision of multiple library circulation operations and supervise assigned Library Pages and Clerks.

What is the compensation package?
Pay Rate: (G20) $19.00 - $26.20 per hour (depending on experience)

  • Assist in the efficient circulation of library materials.
  • Assure delivery of outstanding customer service with circulation desk transactions.
  • Assist library patrons in selecting, locating, and using library materials and equipment.
  • Address patron library account concerns.
  • Check library materials in and out.
  • Monitor the condition of library materials and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Perform various administrative tasks.
  • Supervise, plan, coordinate, and monitor work of assigned employees including workload distribution and scheduling.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient work completion.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve employees' concerns.
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of work performed by assigned employees and provide feedback to them.
  • Assist other staff members and perform other related duties as required.

What are the minimum requirements?
Provo City will honor equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Three years of experience as a Library Assistant
  • OR 2 years of college-level coursework in Library Science, Office Technology, or related field and 1 year as a Library Assistant.
  • A valid, lawful Driver License may be required.

What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed on June 10, 2026Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate may be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
