Equipment Checkout Services Coordinator

Join the BYU Library team in supporting student success through technology and productivity services. The Equipment Checkout Services Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, inventory, and promotion of the library's productivity equipment collection, including calculators, chargers, headphones, webcams, iPads, and other resources that help students succeed in their academic work. This position works collaboratively with library stakeholders to ensure equipment is available, functional, and responsive to evolving student needs while providing excellent customer service and stewardship of university resources.
Note: This is a part-time position, 28 hours per week.
What you'll do in this position:
Service Management
  • Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with other relevant library stakeholders such as help desk supervisors and department services managers to ensure smooth operation of services across locations and teams throughout the library. Organize semesterly meetings with reference specialists to provide coordination and updates.
  • Purchasing: Responsible for purchasing equipment for replacement and approved added/new equipment items.
  • Maintenance: Review and record all damaged or non-functioning equipment. Replace or withdraw items in keeping with standard policy and procedure for damaged/broken library items.
  • Inventory: Maintain lists of productivity related equipment available throughout the library and perform regular audits to ensure assets are readily available for patron use.
  • Promotion: ensure information about equipment checkout services is readily available and accurate both in the library and online. Propose and coordinate initiatives designed to help raise awareness of equipment checkout services in the library.
  • Issue resolution: Work with Resolutions to facilitate the replacement of lost, missing, or damaged items.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to processes in area supervised.
  • Statistics: Track and report key performance and service statistics.
  • User Experience Improvement: Coordinate with stakeholders and management as new equipment types are vetted for addition into the library collections. Work collaboratively with parallel department teams to ensure services are meeting user expectations.
  • Professional Development: Participate in department, library, and university trainings. With supervisor, determine other position-related professional development activities and the scope of involvement.
