Job description

Organization: New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

Location: 1801 Mountain Rd NW  Albuquerque, NM  87104

An Off-Campus Work-Study position

The Education Outreach Assistant willsupport the delivery of dynamic science education programs that inspirecuriosity and foster a love for the natural world to the public during outreachevents. This role works closely with the outreach coordinator and engagesdiverse audiences across New Mexico. This position works a maximum of 15 hoursper week (30 hours per two-week pay period).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering hands-on educational programs/activities at offsite venues such as libraries, schools, community festivals, and other public spaces.
Interact with participants of all ages, backgrounds, and communities in a friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic manner.
Facilitate engaging learning experiences related to natural history and science topics.
Handle delicate fossils, bones and live animals with care and in compliance with museum handling protocols for preservation and safety.
