Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks and supporting preventive maintenance routines under supervision. This position focuses on learning the operations of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The mechanic in this role helps ensure that equipment is functioning properly and is capable of meeting production throughput rates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, following established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve simple equipment malfunctions under supervision.
  • Assist with routine preventive maintenance inspections and tasks as scheduled.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Report any issues or defects to the senior mechanic or supervisor.
  • Assist with ordering parts and materials for minor repairs.
  • Support the team with inventory management and parts verification.
  • Follow all safety policies and regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform maintenance under supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous Welding experience required.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with basic tools and machinery.
