Job description

184 Day Position- Pay is pro-rated after the start of the school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Licensed Practical Nurse (Current Georgia License)
  2. Valid American Red Cross Adult and Child CPR, First Aid and AED Cards
  3. Three years experience preferred
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prompt and regular attendance
  • Provides care of students and faculty using the American Red Cross First Aid Guidelines and the Liberty County School System Health Resource Manual
  • Assists with wellness and safety programs
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of the internet, email and other computer applications
    • Maintains stock and inventory for school clinic
    • Monitors permanent records for current immunization records and EEDS
    • Assists the classroom teachers on health related issues
    • Maintains current American Red Cross certification in CPR, First Aid, AED, and HIV/AIDS
    • Provides assistance to the chronically ill child as needed and deemed appropriate by the Principal and/or County level Supervisor
    • Provides school in-services as needed on HIV/AIDS
    • Maintains daily electronic documentation of student visits and sick log of faculty/staff visits
    • Dispenses approved medications
    • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or Superintendent of Schools
  • Conducts testing as requested for vision, hearing, dental and nutrition screenings
  • Maintains records and logs of testing and provide referral/follow up services
  • Maintains current immunization records on students
  • Completes monthly reports and records as requested
  • Conducts parent conferences and makes phone calls as needed
