Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and an NC or compact RN license.

Details
  • Float pool position covering all ICU units within a large academic medical center, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center ICUs
  • May also float to stepdown units as needed
  • Patient ratios are generally 1:1, with a maximum of 1:3 in stepdown assignments
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM โ€“ 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call required
Requirements
  • Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Current NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
  • Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient-centered care across multiple ICU settings using the nursing process
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, patient education, and discharge planning
  • Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Background check and drug screen required prior to start; candidates should be prepared for a turnaround of at least 2 weeks for results
