Position Overview:

Lewis Bakeries located in Murfreesboro, TN is hiring Class A CDL Truck Drivers to provide commercial vehicle operations through the tri-state area.

Lewis primarily bakes loaf bread, buns and rolls under branded products such as Bunny Bread, Lewis Bake Shop, Healthy Life, as well as other brands. Bakery facilities are located in LaPorte, Ft. Wayne, Vincennes, and Evansville, Indiana, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Our heritage has been one of quality and reliability since 1925. Every day the Lewis family and their caring associates rise to the challenge of baking the very best bakery products with a forward-thinking passion for growth and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 ton to facilitate shipping/receiving operations
  • Operate trucks for the delivery and unloading of bakery product
  • Perform required pre/post maintenance checks and provide required reports
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT
  • Comply with safety policies, procedures and DOT regulations
  • Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition
  • Perform other duties as needed to support and improve overall department operations.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid CDL class A license
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • 1 year minimum of professional driving experience is preferred
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screening, background check, and other pre-employment requirements
  • Must be capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Other physical requirements: sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, bending, twisting, talking and hearing.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak well as perform simple math
  • Ability to operate computerized systems
  • Can travel within the tri-state area
