Essential Functions

  • Developing and growing customer relationships within a big box selling environment.
  • Providing leadership to a team to achieve sales volume targets.
  • Recruiting, training, and developing a team of merchandisers to meet customer requirements and expectations, as well as sales targets.
  • Providing feedback to management to ensure effective results.
  • Meeting and exceeding customer expectations by following company strategies.
  • Observing and reporting competitive activity within the territory and recommending solutions to management
  • Promoting practices that result in all employees conducting themselves in a safe and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of sales experience within consumer packaged goods (CPG), food manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or Direct Store Delivery (DSD).
  • Experience managing customer relationships with wholesalers, distributors, grocery retailers, or warehouse customers preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, forecasting, merchandising, and retail execution.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Candidates should reside within approximately two hours of the Springfield, Missouri AWG warehouse.
  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory is required, including warehouse visits, customer meetings, and retail store visits.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to support meetings, training, or expansion into additional warehouse locations.
  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
