Job description

We are seeking a skilled Security Technician to join our team and support the installation, service, and maintenance of electronic security systems across commercial and multifamily properties. This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates professionally with clients, and thrives in a fast-paced field environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and service security systems including access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and related hardware.
  • Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling for integrated security systems.
  • Mount and align cameras, install door hardware, and ensure proper operation of electronic locking devices.
  • Program system software, user permissions, schedules, and device integrations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, diagnose failures, and perform corrective repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, materials used, and system configurations.
  • Provide professional on-site customer support and training.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, IT teams, electricians, and property management staff,


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience installing or servicing electronic security systems.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as Brivo, Lenel, Avigilon, Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, HID, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring, door hardware, and electronic locking mechanisms.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, PoE, switches).
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various indoor/outdoor environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturer certifications (Lenel, Brivo, Avigilon, Honeywell, etc.).
  • Experience with multifamily, commercial, or industrial security deployments.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, ADA, and local building codes.
  • Experience integrating security systems with IT networks.
