Classification: Part-time Non-Exempt, Hourly

Salary: $18.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience


Primary Responsibilities:

The Food Server is a key member of the dining and event team, responsible for delivering exceptional service to our members. This position requires a warm, professional demeanor, attention to detail, and a commitment to high service standards. Servers are expected to anticipate needs, provide knowledgeable recommendations, and ensure every member feels welcome, comfortable, and valued. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and a strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

General Expectations:

  • Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work at assigned station.
  • Maintain positive personal hygiene and cleanliness throughout the shift.
  • Demonstrate a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Follow all national, state, and local safety, health, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the Chef or Manager-on-Duty.
  • Collect and organize reservations and special requests.
  • Follow all club policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Uphold the club’s values of hospitality, respect, and excellence.
  • Support other roles as needed to ensure a seamless member experience.

Pre-Service Duties:

  • Prepare and stock condiments, dressings, and beverage stations.
  • Fold napkins and set up bread baskets with supplies.
  • Review daily prospectus sheets for special events, large parties, and room setups.
  • Prepare beverages, silverware, coffee pots, water pitchers, and service ware.
  • Polish silverware and ensure tables are fully set.
  • Prepare butter dishes, creamers, and cut lemons.
  • Stock iced tea and water stations, fill ice bins, and prepare glasses.
  • Organize dessert and soup stations with utensils and service ware.
  • Fill oil/vinegar dispensers, salt and pepper mills, and sugar caddies.
  • Assist with special tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Service Duties:

  • Greet members promptly and warmly.
  • Present menus and offer recommendations when appropriate.
  • Take and serve orders accurately.
  • Monitor ticket times and coordinate with kitchen stations to ensure timely delivery of hot and cold items.
  • Garnish and tray finished entrees for prompt delivery.
  • Deliver food to correct tables to ensure prompt service.
  • Carry take-out and delivery items to designated areas as needed.
  • Monitor kitchen and service areas for cleanliness and reset as needed.
  • Address member concerns professionally and positively.
  • Correctly bill accounts and obtain member signatures as required.
  • Assist in the setup, execution, and breakdown of private and club-hosted events.
  • Provide service in both plated and buffet-style formats, ensuring timely and professional delivery of food and beverages.
  • Work closely with the Events team to understand event timelines, guest expectations, and special requests.
  • Ensure all event areas are clean, organized, and set to Club standards before, during, and after events.

Post-Service Duties:

  • Wrap and store prepared butters, creamers, and lemon containers.
  • Clean and sanitize service counters, stations, and trays.
  • Take out trash and dirty linen from service stations.
  • Stock linen cupboards and reset rooms according to the next day’s prospectus.
  • Collect and secure silverware, glassware, and carafe.
  • Check all areas for cleanliness .
  • Reset dining rooms and event spaces for next service.
  • Cash out and reconcile shift transactions.
  • Complete assigned side work in both front and back of house.

Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with all servers, runners, bussers, bartenders, and cooks to ensure a smooth and enjoyable member experience.
  • Maintain open communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support dining and events.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for 8 hours
