Overview

Lemon Law Group is seeking an experienced Lemon Law Attorney to join our growing consumer protection and California Lemon Law practice in Irvine, CA. This full-time, in-person position offers an exciting opportunity to specialize in California Lemon Law and consumer protection matters while making a meaningful difference in the lives of consumers facing vehicle purchase and warranty issues. The ideal candidate has experience handling California Lemon Law claims, vehicle warranty disputes, and consumer protection matters and is confident managing cases from initial evaluation through settlement, negotiation, and litigation. As a key member of our legal team, you will utilize your knowledge of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act to navigate complex automotive defect claims, negotiate directly with automobile manufacturers, dealerships, and defense counsel, and provide exceptional legal counsel and advocacy to clients. We are committed to fostering a dynamic, collaborative, and supportive environment that empowers our attorneys to deliver outstanding results while ensuring every client receives dedicated and effective representation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of California Lemon Law and consumer warranty claims from intake through resolution
  • Evaluate potential Lemon Law cases, including liability, damages, case value, and available remedies
  • Analyze vehicle defects, repair histories, warranty documents, purchase agreements, service records, and related evidence
  • Apply the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and applicable California consumer protection laws
  • Conduct legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and California statutes and case law
  • Prepare and review demand letters, settlement proposals, pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence
  • Negotiate directly with vehicle manufacturers, manufacturers' counsel, dealerships, and defense counsel to maximize client recovery
  • Evaluate settlement offers and develop effective settlement and negotiation strategies
  • Handle discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation activities
  • Prepare cases for litigation when pre-litigation negotiations are unsuccessful
  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, legal options, and settlement opportunities
  • Maintain accurate case records, deadlines, and documentation in the firm's case management system
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and case managers to efficiently move cases toward resolution
  • Assist leadership with case strategy, workflow improvements, and department development

Required Qualifications

  • Active California State Bar license in good standing (required)
  • 2+ years of California Lemon Law or consumer warranty experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act
  • Experience evaluating vehicle defects, repair histories, warranty claims, and manufacturer liability
  • Proven ability to negotiate settlements effectively
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional, client-focused, and results-driven

Preferred Qualifications

  • Plaintiff-side Lemon Law experience
  • Experience handling California Lemon Law litigation
  • Experience negotiating directly with automobile manufacturers or manufacturer defense counsel
  • Experience with Song-Beverly Act claims
  • Experience handling complex or high-value consumer warranty matters
  • Trial, deposition, mediation, or hearing experience
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
  • Familiarity with CASEpeer or similar case management software
