Job description

The Assistant Director of Marketing combines skills in marketing, content creation, strategic communication, and customer service to foster meaningful student engagement practices, branded social media and digital experiences between the college and prospective and continuing students, maximizing their likelihood to enroll and retain at Ivy Tech Community College. The position is empowered to inform, assist, and most importantly, to delight prospective and continuing students and their families via strategic content development, brand story sharing, and direct customer service activities. The Assistant Director of Marketing will be expected to become proficient in college recruitment, admission, and retention processes and will be empowered to collaborate directly with relevant staff. This position will also oversee the Communications and Development Specialist position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop brand social media content (writing, photography, videography, basic graphic design) focused on the prospective student and parent audience as well as continuing students.
  • Coordinate and assist with developing creative concepts and strategies to encourage user engagement across the board and drive enrollment and retention goals.
  • Create and curate marketing content specifically optimized for social media across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.. Content will include, but not be limited to photos, gifs, infographics, captions, podcasts and short videos. Identify opportunities for social media platform expansion.
  • Curate admission and retention social media calendar.
  • Contribute to design and development of admission and retention web pages and development of innovative methods for presenting web-based information.
  • Photograph and/or video college activities and events for admission and retention marketing and communications purposes.
  • Oversee Communications and Development Specialist position.
  • Assist in coordination of admission and retention marketing and communications efforts on behalf of both prospective and continuing student populations.
  • Use project management software as well as techniques and skills to ensure effective management and timely delivery of materials.
  • Contribute to the comprehensive admission and retention marketing plan to support recruitment and enrollment goals of the college. Translate and leverage marketing data and analytics to inform, segment, personalize and optimize campaign strategy. Maintain documentation and campaign calendars.
  • Write and create short-form content that sells the value of an Ivy Tech degree to prospective students, which includes writing for a target demographic of high school and adult students.
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships to promote teamwork and advance the priorities of the college.
  • Gather, analyze and synthesize analytics to communicate audience trends accurately and creatively.
  • Assist in creating strategies for CRM user journey and nurture streams to engage external target audiences.
  • Assist with admission and retention event deliverables.
  • Organize and fulfill campus print job/requests through the online submission form.
  • Work collaboratively with the college marketing and communication team.
  • Follow the guidance and direction of the supervisor(s).
  • Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued, supported, and respected.
  • Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior.
  • Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies.
  • Other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • CRM experience.
  • Social media and internet savvy.
  • Familiarity/experience with Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, digital photography/videography, Canva, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proven ability to prioritize complex projects, managing and meeting deadlines and deliverables.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
