PURPOSE STATEMENTย 

To provide therapy and support to Ayuda's clients as a member of the Social Services team.ย 

ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILEย 

Ayuda is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing direct legal, social and language access services, education, and outreach to low-income immigrants in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since 1973, Ayuda has provided critical services on a wide range of issues, in the process acquiring nationally recognized expertise in several fields including immigration law, language access, domestic violence and human trafficking. Ayuda has office locations in Washington, DC, Silver Spring, MD and Fairfax, VA.ย ย

WHAT WILL THIS JOB ENTAIL?ย 

Core responsibilities of the position include the following.ย  Other duties may be assigned.ย 

  • Provide individual, family and/or group therapy; services provided to assigned office siteย ย 
  • Conduct client intakes and safety planning, assess client needs, and develop individualized service and treatment plansย 
  • Provide clinical recommendations and advocacy in the best interests of the clientย 
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision with other Ayuda clinician(s)ย 
  • Document services provided, collect and maintain required information for specific funding reportingย 
  • Collaborate with?Ayuda's?legal department to provide holistic services to clientsย 
  • Provide written documentation supporting client's immigration case such as psychological evaluations or letters of supportย 
  • Assist in conducting internal and external training as neededย 
  • Ensure Ayuda representation at local coalition meetings and participate in advocacy initiativesย 
  • Completes duties as assigned by Director of Social Services to meet the demands facing immigrant communities.ย 

This position will be based in our DC office. This position is hybrid and will include both in-person and remote workdays. On average, this position would be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a week.ย ย ย 

Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally able to work in the United States and maintain proper work authorization throughout employment. ย 
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position presented in a general office environment. ย 

Qualifications:ย

Required:ย 

  • Master's degree or higher in the social services related field (Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, etc.)ย 
  • Licensed Therapist in Maryland or DC (see below)ย 
  • Maryland: LGPC, LMSW, LCSW-Cย 
  • DC: LGSW, LGPC, LICSW, LCPCย 
  • Fluent in English and Spanishย 
  • Knowledge of social services within the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia area, specifically those for immigrantsย 

Preferred:ย 

  • Licensed Therapist in Maryland AND DC (see below)ย 
  • Maryland: LCPC, LCSW-Cย 
  • DC: LPC, LICSWย ย 
  • Experience working with immigrant survivors of traumaย 
  • Desire to work with interdisciplinary team in representing the best interest of clientย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsย 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skillsย 
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skillsย 
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities and working in different officesย 
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaborativelyย 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:ย 

This position is a temporary, at-will position through March 2027 to work on a specific grant-funded project, with the possibility of extension. ย 

This position is part-time at 30 hours per week. ย 


The anticipated annual salary for this position is $49,800-$61,800, depending on experience and licensure.ย ย 

This salary has been pro-rated from the salary range of $66,300-$82,400 for an equivalent full-time employee.ย

  • 12 weeks paid parental leaveย 
  • 24 days paid holidays and staff wellness days, including Winter Break, the last week of the yearย 
  • Job-related professional development fees (including annual state bar dues and professional memberships)ย
