Legal Support Supervisor

Lead Legal Support. Drive Exceptional Client Service.

At Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP, our people and technology are essential to delivering outstanding client service. We're seeking a Legal Support Supervisor to lead and develop Legal Practice Assistants, Legal Executive Assistants, and Legal Support Assistants in multiple offices to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality support for attorneys and clients. This role combines team leadership, HR administration, training and development, workflow optimization, and operational coordination to deliver consistent, value-added legal support.

The position supervises LPAs supporting the Seattle transactional practice group and the Bellevue and Boise offices, requiring regular travel between locations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop legal support professionals while balancing workloads and optimizing office workflow.

  • Partner with attorneys and firm leadership to ensure effective support, attorney assignments, and high-quality work product.

  • Manage staffing, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, employee concerns, timekeeping, absences, and departures.

  • Develop and deliver training programs covering legal processes, firm procedures, technology, and AI tools.

  • Identify training needs, address skill gaps, and support ongoing professional development.

  • Monitor ServiceNow workflows, operational processes, and resource allocation to improve efficiency and service delivery.

  • Collaborate with HR, Shared Services, practice groups, and firm leadership on staffing, compliance, performance, and operational needs.

  • Identify and escalate workflow or performance issues affecting client service, productivity, or team morale.

  • Communicate and implement firm policies, procedures, and best practices.

What You'll Bring

  • Five-plus years of experience in legal support or timekeeper role.

  • Law firm experience required.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, workflows, and resources.

  • Proactive approach to technology, process improvement, and client service.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of direct supervisory experience.

  • Experience supervising legal support professionals.

  • Experience with ServiceNow, Workday, or similar systems.

  • Experience developing, training and implementing technology or AI solutions.

  • Experience with workforce planning, process improvement, and operational reporting.

Washington State compensation range: $98,350 to $149,480 annually
