Compensation:ย $120,000-$175,000 per yearย 

Schedule:ย Monday - Friday; regular business hours

Summaryย 

This is a hands-on, generalist attorney role supporting COMCโ€™s General Counsel across a broad range of legal and operational matters. You'll report directly to the GC and you will serve as a key member of a lean legal team, taking ownership of day-to-day legal workstreams while operating in close coordination with the GC in on complex issues, major decisions, and company-wide priorities.ย 

The ideal candidate moves fluidly between drafting a vendor contract, building a compliance checklist, standing up an intake process, and advising on an employment matter and knows when to drive a matter independently versus when to escalate to the GC. This is not a traditional law firm role. You'll own your work end-to-end and help build out the legal function of a growing company alongside a GC who's invested in your development.

Responsibilities/Dutiesย 

Contract Management & Transactional Work

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts,ย MSAs, NDAs, SaaS/technology agreements, consignment and marketplace agreements,ย licensing deals, and product terms of serviceย 
  • Maintain and own the contract lifecycle โ€” from intake through execution, storage, and renewal trackingย 
  • Develop andย maintainย standard form agreements and playbooks to reduce turnaround timeย 
  • Support M&A and financing transactions as needed (diligence, rep/warranty review, ancillary documents)ย 
  • Draft andย maintainย consumer-facing product terms including terms of service, terms of sale, buyer and seller policies, and platform usage agreementsย 

Legal Operations & Process Buildingย 

  • Design and implement scalable legal operations infrastructure: matter tracking, intake workflows, contract repository, and vendor managementย 
  • Identifyย and implement legal tech solutions (CLM, e-signature, project management tooling)ย 
  • Build andย maintainย legal SOPs, policy templates, and internal guidance documentsย 
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on complex matters and manage billing/budgetย 

Compliance & Risk Managementย 

  • Monitor and advise on regulatory compliance across key areas including privacy, employment,ย e-commerce, marketplaceย 
  • Support IP protection efforts including trademark registration, enforcement, and licensingย 
  • Adviseย on data privacy obligations, vendor due diligence, and cybersecurity-related legal issuesย 
  • Support compliance with federal and state regulations applicable to warehouse, fulfillment, and marketplace operationsย 

Employment & HR Supportย 

  • Review and draft offer letters, employment agreements,ย andย contractor agreements,ย ย 
  • Advise on day-to-day employment matters including performance, termination, accommodation requests, and policy questionsย 
  • Partner with HR/People team on handbook updates, leave policies, and compliance with multi-state employment lawsย 

Corporate Governance & General Legal Supportย 

  • Manage corporate governance records,ย insurance, and entity maintenanceย 
  • Handle legal correspondence, demand letters,ย pre-litigationย and litigationย mattersย 
  • Provide ad hoc legal research and guidance to cross-functional stakeholdersย 
  • Support real estate matters including lease review and facilities-related legal questionsย 

Skills & Qualificationsย 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, able to track many simultaneous workstreams without dropping ballsย 
  • Comfort operating with minimal supervision and building from scratchย 
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication for both legal and non-legal audiences
  • Sound legal judgment, including the ability to determine when to handle a matter independently versus when to escalate to the GCย 
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders across functions (HR, finance, operations, product)ย 
  • Strong drafting skills across a range of document types, from commercial contracts to internal policies and SOPsย 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting workstreams in a fast-paced, resource-lean environmentย 
  • Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive or confidential mattersย 
  • Business-minded approach to legal risk, balancing legal protection with practical commercial needs
  • Interest in or knowledge of collectibles, trading cards, or the secondary market ecosystem, preferred

Education & Experienceย 

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (Washington State preferred; other jurisdictions considered)
  • 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least some time in-house, at a startup, or in a practice area with heavy transactional and operational exposure
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts independently
  • Prior in-house experience at a startup, e-commerce company, or marketplace platform, preferred
  • Exposure to privacy compliance (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR basics), preferred
  • Familiarity with WA employment law, multi-state compliance, or regulatory ,frameworks applicable to e-commerce and fulfillment operations, preferred
  • Experience with warehouse, logistics, or fulfillment regulatory frameworks, preferred
  • Hands-on experience implementing or managing legal technology (CLM, DocuSign, legal intake tools), preferred
