Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority- and women-owned law firm in the United States, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our New York City office, supporting our Securities Litigation & Regulation practice. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
About the Role
The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling securities litigation and regulatory matters. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
The ideal candidate is a quick learner with strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and other case-related materials
  • Assist with court filings and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and deadlines
  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, meetings, and other important deadlines
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
  • Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding items to ensure deadlines are met
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and other attorney scheduling needs
  • Assist with general administrative and legal support tasks as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive client and case information

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably supporting litigation attorneys
  • Experience supporting securities litigation, commercial litigation, or complex civil litigation is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
