Job description

Spanish speaking legal secretary/receptionist.


Ferris & Thompson LTD is a two-attorney law firm in the Greenleaf Center, Gurnee, IL. The gorgeous entrance features an arched ceiling and stained-glass windows. We have been servicing Lake County clients since 1989 in personal injury claims and criminal defense. A significant percentage of our clients are Spanish speaking. Spanish speaking skills are required.

Responsibilities:

- Greet clients and answer telephone calls
- Provide administrative support to attorneys in our Gurnee office (no remote hours)
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings and motions
- Assist in the preparation of trial materials, including exhibits and witness lists
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions
- Manage and organize legal files and documents
- Assist with document review and discovery processes
- Maintain calendars and deadlines for lawyers
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
- experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role preferred

- Familiarity with litigation processes and court rules preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Paralegal certification or relevant degree is preferred
