About the Position
The Legal Contract Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end contract review, negotiation, routing, and approval process, including coordination of executive approvals. This role reviews customer and vendor contracts, terms, and general conditions, provides legal interpretation, prepares amendments and redlines, and applies sound business judgment to ensure contract language adequately protects the Company's interests. The Contract Manager serves as a key liaison between customers, vendors, internal project teams, and the Legal department when contract issues or disputes arise, working to resolve matters efficiently and effectively in alignment with Company policies, procedures, objectives, and applicable laws and regulations.

Day in the Life
  • Reviews incoming and outgoing customer contracts, including subcontracts and government subcontracts, for accuracy, risk, and compliance with Company standards and best practices.
  • Coordinates with project teams, preconstruction, and delivery teams to ensure contract terms align with business objectives and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Meets established contract review turnaround times and service-level expectations.
  • Negotiates final contract terms, conditions, and requirements with customers and vendors through execution, in consultation with the Legal team and senior management.
  • Prepares amendments and redlines to protect Company interests while supporting business needs.
  • Coordinates and obtains approvals from business leaders in accordance with the Company's designated approval matrix.
  • Maintains and updates contractual information in contract management systems and other internal platforms to ensure accurate communication across cross-functional teams.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains standard terms and conditions, including identifying and proposing acceptable alternative contract language when required.
  • Partners closely with the Legal team to manage the contract routing, review, and approval process from initiation through execution.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Company and customers or vendors regarding claims or contract disputes and collaborates with the Legal team to support timely and effective resolution.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with customers, project teams, specialty contractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders that reflect the Company's core values and support customer satisfaction.
  • Supports Legal team initiatives, including contract-related training, continuous improvement, and staying current on changes in applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and adhere to ethical standards and professional conduct requirements, as applicable to the role.
  • Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, formal legal education, or equivalent work experience in contract drafting, contract management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in contract negotiation, review, and analysis.
  • Experience in or knowledge of the construction industry is preferred .
  • Working knowledge of contract and construction law, including contracting concepts, licensing requirements, and subcontracting.
  • Experience with government contracts and subcontracts preferred.
  • Strong professionalism with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high-quality documentation and report preparation.
  • Proven negotiation, conflict management, and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and dependability.
  • Ability to take initiative, think strategically, and work collaboratively across business units and the Legal team.
  • Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and drive timely, practical solutions.
  • Ability to balance business objectives with risk mitigation, Company policies, and best practices.
  • Project and team management skills; strong team player with coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems, tools, and responsibilities, including contract management platforms, as the Legal department evolves.

Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required .

Salary Range
  • $ 95,200 - $ 133,200 annually, based on experience and qualifications
