Job description

The Opportunity:

Revolution Medicines is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Operations Manager to support the Legal team. This individual contributor role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department and driving operational excellence through process improvement, reporting, training, and departmental support initiatives. The Legal Operations Manager plays a central role in developing and maintaining operational programs that enable the Legal Department to function effectively and deliver high-quality legal services to the organization.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Legal Operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Department Operations

  • Manage daily operational activities of the Legal Department.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental processes, procedures, and workflows.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.

  • Coordinate departmental planning and strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain departmental calendars, recurring governance activities, and operational documentation.

  • Coordinate Legal Department meetings, offsites, leadership meetings, and employee engagement activities.

  • Support workspace planning and departmental logistics.

  • Support implementation of operational best practices.

  • Develop metrics to evaluate process effectiveness.

Onboarding and Training

  • Develop and manage onboarding programs for Legal Department personnel.

  • Coordinate departmental training initiatives.

  • Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and reference documentation.

  • Support adoption of legal processes and technology solutions.

  • Coordinate onboarding checklists.

  • Ensure new employees receive appropriate system access.

  • Coordinate orientation sessions.

  • Support offboarding and records retention activities.

  • Workspace and equipment readiness.

Vendor and Financial Support

  • Assist with management of legal vendors and service providers.

  • Support invoice submission, review and approvals.

  • Maintain purchase orders and vendor records.

  • Coordinate vendor onboarding and performance evaluations.

  • Maintain preferred vendor lists.

  • Support Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for legal services.

Knowledge Management

  • Develop and maintain Legal Department knowledge repositories.

  • Promote consistent document management and version control practices.

  • Maintain department collaboration sites including Teams, Egnyte, SharePoint, or other repositories.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 5+ years of legal operations, legal administration, legal project management, or corporate legal department experience.

  • Experience supporting in-house legal departments.

  • Experience with outside counsel management.

  • Experience with legal technology platforms.

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced corporate environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with sound data driven decision-making ability.

  • An innovative team-player with capacity to be effective in a dynamic and fast-paced company environment.

  • Learning agility.
