Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for the customer's dining experience. The incumbent is responsible for the restaurant, event, catering or other assigned guest meal events. The position ensures an exceptional dining experience for customers with primary responsibility for serving meals and legal beverages (for those locations which sell alcoholic beverages). This position works closely with co-workers to ensures a clean, safe and inviting environment. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a high quality of service and atmosphere for the customers
Responsibilities, Duties amp; Accountabilities:
The core, critical and essential work duties, functions and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
  • Primary responsibility for greeting and serving customers, providing a superior experience, ensures the highest standards of quality and service for dining in the Restaurants/Banquets and Events, to include catering as assigned
  • Ensures guests are treated with the utmost timely respect and professional courtesy, from the start to the end of the service (Payment of bill and thanking them for choosing us as their dining experience)
  • Greets and takes customers’ meal and beverage orders, treating them with exceptional customer service (Example: Immediate offering of beverages, offering the highlights of the menu, serving the meal timely, checking back to ensure satisfaction in meal and beverages quality as needed; ensuring table is cleared, take-away left-overs are boxed in the kitchen, and desserts are marketed and offered)
  • Serves banquets/corporate and private events/parties/meetings, etc.…
  • Performs cross-functional duties of co-workers for exceptional service and coverage during absences
  • Works closely with the kitchen to ensure only the highest quality food is delivered and presented to customers
  • To courteously address with tact and professionalism all customer complaints, concerns and issues, and bringing to them to the attention of the management
  • Maintains knowledge and the appropriate food handling and health/safety training and permits and continuously maintains current on proper, hygienic and safe food handling practices
  • Follows strict protocols, legal requirements and policies on all legal beverages (liquor, beer, wine, spirits), addressing and maintaining strict control of Age 21 protocols for customers; supports prevention of problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by bringing concerns to the immediate attention of the management
  • Maintains an exceptionally clean environment through general cleaning and is responsible to ensure a clean Dining Room/Restaurant /Banquet and Event experience for all guests
  • Ensures proper payment policies, processes and controls are followed
  • Maintains and practices safe, healthy and professional practices for customer service, food handling and preparation and the current required food handling permits
    • Uses appropriate handling of food, dishes (plates, pans, etc.), drinking glasses, cups and utensil handling
    • Maintains brief yet courteous and professional, not personal nor long conversations with customers
    • Provides all customers with a professional and positive experience
  • Takes a proactive, positive and sincere interest in our customers, ensuring continuity of the company’s long-standing relationship with the community
  • Complies with all company policies, standards and protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Departmental Checklists and other required rules and practices
  • Follows safety and security practices and protocols; and ensures these processes are timely, sufficiently and consistently followed; successfully completes and complies with all daily and other routine Departmental Checklists (Ex: Opening Checklist, Closing Checklist, Cleaning Checklist, etc.) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), adhering to these with the utmost attention to details related to cleanliness and safety
  • Complies with all training (in-person, video, classes, etc.) and successfully participates in and completes/passes all required trainings; follows all Departmental Checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Must be Twenty-One (21) Years of Age
  • High School Diploma or Equivalence
  • 1-2 years’ work experience working as a Restaurant Server
  • Customer Service or other related public service is preferred
  • Previous demonstrated experience and knowledge of Legal Beverages (liquor, beer, wine, spirits), with regards to brands (for customer suggestions/pairings with food)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Food and Beverage services handling practices and food handling safety training, and possession and maintenance of current food handling permit, obtaining ServSafe Certification as directed
  • Demonstrated customer service experience working with the general public and the ability to tactfully and professionally address public concerns and complaints
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees, exercising tact and professionalism in all matters
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive information, exercising considerable discretion and good judgment, demonstrated conscientious and dependable
  • The following physical demands are requirements and must be met in order for the successful performance of the job position: This position requires the incumbent to speak, hear, see, stand for long periods of time, walk frequently and use full reach and range of motion in arms, hands and fingers, with continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills, to bend, stoop, kneel, carry, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to adhere to regular and routine attendance and to work evenings and/or week-ends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain a satisfactory and required attendance, punctuality and ability to work flexible schedules
