Who we're looking for
Toyota's Legal Department (Toyota Legal One or TL1) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Legal Operations Senior Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support TL1 and the Legal Operations group by analyzing technology environments, managing operational workflows, developing automation agents, and enhancing eDiscovery processes to improve efficiency across legal functions.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Legal Operations, the person in this role will support Toyota Legal One's objective to drive operational excellence and efficiency.
This position is based in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.
What you'll be doing
  • Analyze and evaluate legal technology tools and platforms to support operational needs and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and maintain automation agents or scripts to streamline legal workflows and increase efficiency.
  • Conduct workflow analysis and software comparisons to identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Collaborate with and among TL1, Toyota's technology and other business units, outside counsel, and external vendors to implement technology solutions and ensure smooth operations.
  • Support eDiscovery processes including data collection coordination, vendor management, document review workflows, and compliance with legal hold requirements.
  • Manage legal software such as e-billing systems, contract management, document management systems, and eDiscovery platforms.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and analyze KPIs (e.g., spending, matter volume, cycle times) for strategic decision-making.
  • Identify inefficient workflows and implement technological or procedural improvements.
  • Support legal projects including intake triage, knowledge management, and technology implementation.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) OR equivalent professional work experience relevant to this position
  • Experience with legal operations functions including technology analysis, workflow optimization, and operations management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess software solutions and recommend best-fit technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing eDiscovery processes such as data collection, legal holds, document review workflows, and vendor coordination
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with legal tech tools such as contract management systems, e-billing software, and document management platforms
  • Understanding of legal terminology, processes, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze legal data, metrics, and performance indicators to support decision-making
  • Skills in managing projects, timelines, and coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Capability to identify inefficiencies and implement streamlined workflows
  • Precision in managing contracts, compliance documents, and operational data
  • Demonstrated ability to support adoption of new processes and technologies within the legal team

  • Experience with automation tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) used to build agents or scripts
  • Experience in legal operations for a global company, including consulting, project management, and artificial intelligence
  • Certifications related to legal technology and project management specialization (e.g., CEDS, PMP)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles relevant to legal data management
  • Experience conducting software evaluations and vendor comparisons in a corporate legal setting
  • Advanced M365 skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Copilot)
