Job description

This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Procurement Contract Specialist plays an important role in managing the procurement contract lifecycle within Columbia Sportswear's global indirect procurement function. This role is responsible for executing contract review processes and ensuring compliance with company policies and risk standards. The Senior Procurement Contract Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for contract governance, providing guidance to stakeholders and supporting process improvements. This position partners closely with sourcing, category management, and legal teams to enable efficient, accurate, and compliant contract execution.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Execute the contract review process, including intake, validation, and coordination with legal and business stakeholders to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. Lead execution of complex contract reviews.

  • Coordinate closely with category management teams to identify, prioritize and execute contract reviews and renewals in alignment with category strategies. Proactively identify upcoming expirations and align with stakeholders and category leads on delivery timing.

  • Maintain and improve contract records and documentation in the contract management system, ensuring data integrity and readiness for reporting and audits.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for contract governance, providing guidance to internal teams on contract terms, risk considerations, review practices and compliance requirements.

  • Support process improvement initiatives within contract management, including the development of templates, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

YOU HAVE

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or a related field (preferred).

  • 4-6 years of experience in contract management, procurement, legal operations, or a related discipline.

  • Experience reviewing, coordinating, or managing complex contracts and commercial agreements.

  • Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management processes and procurement practices.

  • Familiarity with legal terminology, contract risk concepts, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience working with contract management systems and procurement platforms.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and process discipline.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions.

  • A demonstrated track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
