APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE*** Job Summary The Nevada State Public Defender, Winnemucca Office, is responsible for representing indigent clients in the Union Justice Court and the Sixth Judicial District Court. Preference may be given to candidates that are self motivated, possess conflict resolution skills, proficient in Microsoft 360 programs, Legal Case Management software systems, and is fluent in Spanish.

Essential Qualifications Nevada Bar Membership is required or candidates must be eligible to practice under the rural practice provision of the Nevada Supreme Court Rule 49.9. Job Duties Daily responsibilities include meeting with clients in and out of custody, reviewing and analyzing discovery, consulting with clients, investigators, and additional office staff, managing court appearances, client meetings, telephonic conferences, and negotiating with opposing counsel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience in criminal defense law, strong written and verbal communication skills, time management skills, and organizational skills
