Business Development Manager – Commercial Construction


About D&D Construction Management:


D&D Construction Management is a growing commercial general contractor specializing in tenant fit-outs, interior and exterior alterations, landlord improvements, and other commercial construction projects.


We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to generate new opportunities, build industry relationships, and help expand our commercial client base.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify and pursue new commercial construction opportunities.
  • Build relationships with business owners, franchise groups, developers, landlords, property managers, brokers, architects, and other industry professionals.
  • Generate leads through outreach, referrals, networking events, LinkedIn, and strategic partnerships.
  • Schedule and attend client meetings, presentations, site visits, and industry events.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects and follow up consistently.
  • Qualify opportunities based on project type, location, size, and alignment with company capabilities.
  • Coordinate with ownership and estimating during the proposal and preconstruction process.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and identify repeat-business opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates on leads, meetings, proposals, and awarded projects.


Qualifications:


  • Three or more years of business development, outside sales, or account-management experience.
  • Commercial construction or commercial real estate experience is strongly preferred.
  • Existing industry relationships within New Jersey are highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, networking, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable conducting cold outreach.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, and CRM or lead-tracking platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.


Compensation and Commission:


Base salary of $70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience. This position is also eligible for a performance-based commission program tied to new business generated and project profitability. Specific commission terms will be discussed during the interview process.


Approved business-development travel and expenses will be reimbursed.

This is a full-time position requiring office work, client meetings, networking events, and local travel throughout North and Central New Jersey,
