Legal Billing Specialist (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to $100,000

An established and respected law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join its accounting team. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with legal billing experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, professional environment while maintaining a healthy work-life balance through a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, edit, and process monthly client invoices.
  • Review billing reports for accuracy prior to invoicing.
  • Research billing rates, client-specific billing guidelines, discounts, and special billing arrangements.
  • Process flat-fee billing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly reminder statements.
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients regarding billing questions and account activity.
  • Submit invoices through a variety of electronic billing (e-billing) platforms and monitor payment status.
  • Prepare requests related to trust account (IOLTA) transactions.
  • Reconcile client payments and outstanding account balances.
  • Assist with special accounting projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of legal billing experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and the legal billing cycle.
  • Experience with electronic billing platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with 3E billing software is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with attorneys and administrative staff.
