Job description

We are seeking a highly qualified Tax and Estate Planning Legal Associate with an LL.M. in Taxation and 3–5 years of relevant experience to join our sophisticated private client practice. The ideal candidate will advise high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses on complex estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, income tax, and business succession planning matters. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, strong analytical and drafting skills, client-facing professionalism, and membership in good standing with the Tennessee state bar. There is a long-term opportunity to develop business and inherit a large, successful practice.

Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, partnership and LLC agreements, charitable planning structures, and related tax filings; assisting with estate and trust administration; researching federal and state tax issues; and collaborating with partners, clients, accountants, and financial advisors to develop tax-efficient planning strategies.

Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in Buchalter’s 401k plan.
