Lyten is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the legal department across a mix of administrative and substantive tasks. This role will handle document management, calendaring, meeting coordination, contract administration support, and general legal department functions, with the specific balance of administrative and paralegal-style work shaped by the candidate's background and experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including calendar management, meeting scheduling, correspondence, expense reports, and department invoice processing.
  • Maintain organized filing and records systems for contracts, corporate records, and matter files, including litigation hold distribution/acknowledgment tracking and entity management housekeeping (registered agent filings, annual reports, UCC filings, corporate formation documents) under attorney direction.
  • Support contract administration and execution logistics, including routing agreements for signature, tracking execution status, maintaining the contract repository, coordinating notarization where required, and liaising with outside counsel and vendors on scheduling and invoice submission.
  • Assist with board and subsidiary governance administration, including scheduling, document assembly, and minute-book maintenance under attorney supervision.
  • Support cap table and equity administration in Lyten's stock management platform (e.g., Carta), including processing option/RSU grants, tracking stakeholder records, and supporting investor-related documentation requests under attorney direction.
  • Conduct first-pass review and preliminary redlines of routine contracts (NDAs, standard vendor agreements) under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with due diligence document collection, organization, and preliminary review for M&A and financing transactions.
  • Support trademark and patent portfolio administration, including docketing deadlines, renewal filings, and maintaining the IP docket calendar.
  • Conduct preliminary legal and business research, cite-check, proofread, and format legal documents, memos, and board materials for attorney review; support discovery and subpoena response document collection.
  • Lean into varied administrative and paralegal support needs across the legal department as they arise, given its lean size.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree and 3+ years of administrative or paralegal experience supporting a legal function.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and privileged information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Comfort using AI-assisted tools for drafting, review, and research support in a legal setting.
  • Prior experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced, high-growth company.
  • Paralegal certificate or coursework.
  • Experience supporting corporate governance or board administration.
  • Experience with contract management or e-signature platforms (DocuSign, Ironclad, etc.).
  • Experience with Carta or another cap table/equity management platform.

Compensations Range:
The expected base salary range for this position is between
$106,000.00 - $159,000.00
The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
