Job description

We are a small law firm located in West Palm Beach, Florida seeking a full-time litigation Legal Assistant with at least 1 year experience working in civil litigation, preferably at a defense law firm in first-party property. Candidate must have experience as a legal assistant. Candidate must be highly organized with strong communication skills and fully computer literate. The candidate must be proficient in Word/Outlook and Adobe and able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, other attorneys and staff. The candidate must also be capable of typing/preparing documents, including correspondence and other legal documents. Excellent organizational skills is a must to file, scan, keep client files up to date, schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, familiar with Judge's procedures, and to maintain the attorney's calendar. The person in this position may also be assigned other administrative/clerical duties. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Prior legal assistant experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interact with attorneys, paralegals, and other office staff in a professional manner
  • Ability to interact with Court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients in a professional manner
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or individually
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Outlook
