Senior Product Engineer
We are seeking a Product Engineer or Senior Product Engineer to support the development and lifecycle management of specification-grade commercial LED lighting products. This role is responsible for sustaining engineering, product improvements, engineering documentation, manufacturing support, ERP product management, compliance, and lighting controls integration.
Working within a collaborative Product Engineering team, you'll partner with manufacturing, purchasing, sales, customer service, and suppliers to ensure products remain competitive, compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support sustaining engineering activities for commercial LED lighting products.
  • Drive product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, component substitutions, and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and ERP product data.
  • Develop manufacturing documentation and support production readiness.
  • Participate in new product stage-gate reviews, ensuring manufacturability, compliance, controls integration, and successful production handoff.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Production teams.
  • Support the integration, testing, and implementation of wired and wireless lighting control systems, including platforms such as Lutron, nLight, and Casambi.
  • Assist with product testing, certification, and compliance activities, including UL, CSA, LM79, and LM80 standards.
  • Evaluate new technologies, materials, and components to support continuous product improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and vendors to resolve engineering challenges and improve product performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks with strong GD&T knowledge.
  • Experience designing products using fabricated metals, extrusions, castings, welding, plastics, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of commercial LED lighting systems, thermal management, and lighting performance.
  • Experience with interior and exterior lighting fixtures, including IP-rated enclosure design.
  • Familiarity with wired and wireless lighting control systems.
  • Working knowledge of UL 1598, LM79, LM80, CSA, and other lighting compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Revit, AGi32, or SolidWorks Composer.
  • Background in commercial, architectural, or specification-grade LED lighting.
  • Experience managing ERP product data, configurations, and engineering documentation.
  • Ideal for an Engineer II-level professional or an experienced SolidWorks designer looking to build a long-term career in commercial LED lighting.
  • Intended for experienced commercial lighting professionals with demonstrated technical leadership and product engineering expertise.
  • Ideal candidates are willing to relocate to Orlando, Florida and have the potential to advance into an Engineering Manager position within the next 4-5 years.
