Position Overview
We are seeking an Administrative Support Human Resources professional to support attendance management, leave administration, employee relations, and HR operations. This role will serve as a key resource for employees and leadership by ensuring accurate administration of leave programs, attendance policies, and related HR processes while maintaining compliance with company policies, labor agreements, and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
Leave Administration
  • Administer FMLA, Medical Leave of Absence (MLOA), bereavement leave, and other leave programs in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave inquiries, leave status updates, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Coordinate with medical departments regarding medical leave processing and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate leave documentation and ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
Attendance Management
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for supervisors and management on attendance policies, FMLA regulations, and attendance program interpretation.
  • Conduct and document corrective action discussions for attendance violations, tardiness, and notification failures.
  • Document outcomes of corrective action hearings and disciplinary processes.
  • Monitor open attendance, leave, and tardiness issues and partner with management to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist with job abandonment cases and support the 5-day quit process.
HR Administrative Support
  • Audit and correct attendance coding within the Time Worked/Off System (TWOS).
  • Maintain employee attendance and disciplinary records to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes, including separations, reinstatements, transfers, and leave-related transactions.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to provide efficient and effective employee support.
Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Generate and analyze attendance reports, including AWOL, attendance review, tardiness, and leave utilization reports.
  • Create presentations and data visualizations for supervisors, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Identify attendance trends and recommend proactive solutions to reduce absenteeism.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and apply Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies to improve HR processes and employee experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree required.
  • Previous experience in administrative support, human resources, attendance administration, or leave management.
  • Knowledge of FMLA and leave administration processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn HR systems.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting HR functions in a manufacturing, industrial, or unionized environment.
  • Experience with attendance tracking systems, reporting, and employee records management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
