The American Leather factory is unique in the furniture industry. It allows us to create custom luxury furniture in Dallas, Texas, and deliver it to consumers' homes via our retail partners in about 30 days. Blending the best in technology, efficiency systems, and state-of-the-art craftsmanship allows us to offer the most beautiful styles, innovative mechanisms, and various custom options.

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Wood Shop Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor, the Padder is responsible for the safe and efficient upholstery of foam and soft padding to wood frames using water-based adhesives, staple guns, and other hand tools.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receives frames from the framing area.
  • Attaches soft padding and foam to frames, ensuring all areas are covered appropriately
  • Operates hand tools, nail guns, staple guns, and spray guns
  • Count and report rejected parts (notify assistant supervisor)
  • Clean and maintain the work area
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Manual dexterity with the ability to operate hand and power tools, including nail guns

  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to work a changing work schedule according to production demands
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in cold and hot environments
  • Ability to work with strict deadlines
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a production environment using PPE
EFFORT
  • Continuous standing for extended periods (minimum 8-hour shift)
  • Frequent lifting and turning using arms and torso (minimum 8-hour shift)
  • Frequent bending, pushing, leaning, and twisting (minimum 8-hour shift)
Minimum requirements
  • Six months of production experience
