Accounting Manager | Tampa, FL | Competitive Compensation + Full Benefits
This newly created Accounting Manager role at our dynamic client company is a terrific opportunity for the CPA who desires a mix of technical accounting and operational growth with the ability to impact the finance function during a key period of growth. You will work closely with senior accounting leadership to create policies and procedures, own core month-end close activities, and play a hands-on role in purchase accounting and lease accounting under ASC 805 and ASC 842. You will also be involved in integration work with acquisitions including opening balance sheet preparation and onboarding of new companies into the accounting infrastructure. Hybrid role based in Tampa with occasional travel, built for someone who is organized, detailed, and excited by a fast pace and growing company. Terrific benefit package!
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies
  • Review cash transactions, AP activity, and other recurring items
  • Maintain, reconcile, and review balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing opening balance sheet schedules for newly acquired entities
  • Gather and validate acquisition-related financial data
  • Coordinate with the technical accounting function to ensure accurate application of purchase accounting
  • Maintain lease schedules and ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data
  • Review lease modifications, new leases, and terminations; assist with gathering documentation during acquisitions and onboarding of new entities
  • Serve as a point of contact for accounting system access and basic troubleshooting; support training and onboarding for new users across accounting tools
  • Implement and maintain proper documentation for internal controls and audit readiness
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ad hoc analyses, reporting requests, and special projects

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA
  • 5+ years of accounting experience; Big 4 or national firm preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, including working knowledge of ASC 805 and 842
  • Proven experience with month-end close in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize effectively across competing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - including the ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accounting stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Experience with cloud-based ERP systems, close management platforms, or lease accounting software
  • Background in an M&A-heavy or high-growth environment a plus
