Job description

Kira is transforming how people learn by using AI to empower teachers to deliver personalized learning at scale. We’re backed by top investors and driven by a team that is deeply passionate about using technology to change education. As a Solutions Architect at Kira, you will be a key partner on the Sales team, combining your expertise in K-12 education with Kira's AI-powered platform to address district needs at scale. You will stay up to date on state mandates and trends in the education landscape, ensuring you are the trusted expert when advising districts on Kira's solutions.

Your role is crucial in the sales process, working alongside the field sales team to develop tailored solutions that directly address district pain points. By providing expert guidance and positioning the right Kira products, you will help increase deal size, improve win rates, and drive overall sales success. Reporting to the co-founders and GTM leadership, you'll act as a bridge between district feedback and our product and engineering teams, ensuring customer insights directly inform product development. Your role involves designing scalable, efficient systems that address market needs and accelerate client success, while also driving product enhancements. Data-driven and innovative, you will play a vital role in helping schools improve student outcomes and bring AI-powered education to life in classrooms.

Vision and Purpose of the Solutions Architect Role

The Solutions Architect role at Kira is central to how Kira brings AI-powered learning to K-12 districts at scale. This role acts as a strategic partner to the sales team, providing deep expertise in education technology and helping districts connect their instructional challenges to Kira's AI platform in ways that drive real classroom impact.

The vision for this role is to create meaningful, lasting partnerships with districts — ones where Kira's technology is adopted thoughtfully, implemented successfully, and embraced by the educators it's built for.

The purpose of the Solutions Architect is to:

  • Unlock District Value: By building solutions that address district-specific needs, this role creates the conditions for expanded partnerships and long-term district commitments.

  • Close with Confidence: By showing up as a credible technical partner during sales conversations, this role helps prospects feel grounded in how Kira works — and confident enough to move forward.

  • Accelerate GTM Execution: The Solutions Architect gives district leaders the clarity they need to make decisions confidently. In complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments, this role is often what tips the balance.

This role sits at the heart of Kira's go-to-market motion — blending technical depth with a genuine passion for education to help districts adopt AI in a way that actually sticks.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with the sales team to understand client needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions that showcase Kira's value.

  • Lead the technical discovery process with prospective clients, analyzing their existing systems (e.g., LMS, SIS, rostering tools) and designing tailored solutions for integration.

  • Support sales presentations and demonstrations by articulating the technical aspects of Kira's platform to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including educators and administrators.

  • Develop and present high-level architectural designs and detailed technical proposals that align with clients' objectives and technical environments.

  • Serve as a technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, helping prospects evaluate Kira's platform within their broader technical ecosystem.

  • Lead technical proof-of-concepts and pilot implementations, ensuring smooth handoffs between Sales, Implementation, and Engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to relay customer feedback and ensure that our offerings align with market needs.

  • Create clear technical documentation, including integration guides, architecture diagrams, and implementation playbooks.

  • Drive repeatable processes and best practices for scaling implementations across districts.

  • Maintain expertise in educational technology, data systems integration, and security standards.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to sales team members to enhance their ability to position Kira's solutions.

What We're Looking For
  • 5–8+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect or in a similar technical pre-sales role (SaaS or EdTech preferred).

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-level sales processes, including technical discovery, presentations, and proposal creation.

  • Strong technical fluency: comfortable discussing APIs, system architecture, data flows, and integration patterns.

  • Strong knowledge of educational technology systems, including integration with SIS, LMS, and other district-level platforms.

  • Experience working with REST APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-based systems.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset in designing client-focused technical solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements, working both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

  • Passion for education and using technology to drive positive outcomes for students.

  • Low-ego collaborator who values clarity, ownership, and speed.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment.

    • Nice-To-Haves

      • Experience integrating with LMS/SIS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Clever, ClassLink).

      • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience working with AI-driven products.

      • Experience with K-12 educational technology or pre-sales activities in SaaS or EdTech.

What We Offer
  • $120,000–$140,000 salary, OTE $150,000- $170,000 + equity

  • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance, including a medical insurance plan with 100% coverage of employee premiums

  • DoorDash credit for lunch daily

  • Dog friendly office 🐶
