Project Manager
Location: Birmingham, Alabama (On-site)
Role Overview
The Project Manager, PMO supports the PMO roadmap by planning, organizing, and delivering cross-functional IT projects that enable business outcomes. This role builds and maintains project plans, manages risks, issues, actions, and decisions (RAID), coordinates resources and vendors, and ensures delivery aligns with scope, milestones, budget, and quality expectations. The Project Manager communicates status and risks, facilitates working sessions to drive decisions, translates business needs into actionable requirements, and supports testing, communication, training, and adoption activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate leadership presence, accountability, ownership, and delivery discipline for assigned projects.
  • Build working relationships with stakeholders and project team members; communicate tradeoffs and escalate issues with context and recommended next steps.
  • Plan and facilitate project working sessions (requirements, design, status, risk/issue, and readiness) to drive clarity and decisions.
  • Coordinate across teams to manage handoffs and dependencies, helping to resolve blockers.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including scope, milestones, resources, budget, communications, and adoption tasks.
  • Manage scope, timeline, budget inputs, and quality expectations for assigned initiatives.
  • Maintain RAID and action/decision logs with clear owners and due dates; drive mitigation planning and timely resolution.
  • Produce status reporting for stakeholders at appropriate levels.
  • Partner with technology teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to coordinate delivery activities, testing, cutover readiness, and stabilization support.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
  • Three to five years of related experience, with at least one year of experience in complex IT initiatives.
  • A solid background in IT and project management.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (or other process diagramming tools), Teams/SharePoint, and Project Management tools (Microsoft or others).

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification is preferred.
