We don't just create housing, we create homeownership opportunities for low and moderate income residents. Join our movement!
ABOUT THE SAN FRANCISCO COMMUNITY LAND TRUST
The San Francisco Community Land Trust (SFCLT) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create permanently affordable housing for low-to-moderate-income people through community ownership of the land. Guided by the principles of anti-displacement and racial justice, SFCLT stabilizes neighborhoods and creates greater access to housing and homeownership opportunities with a focus on BIPOC communities previously excluded from access to wealth, and in particular, access to homeownership opportunities.
SFCLT currently owns and operates 16 permanently affordable properties throughout San Francisco, including Chinatown, the Mission, the Tenderloin, the Richmond, South of Market, and Russian Hill.
ABOUT THE OPERATIONS MANAGER ROLE
SFCLT is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the organization's core administrative and operational functions. This is a highly collaborative, detail-oriented role that serves as the operational backbone of the organization. The Operations Manager develops and maintains efficient systems, coordinates cross-functional workflows, and ensures staff have the tools, resources, and support they need to do their best work. Operations & Technology: Manage office systems and technology, coordinate IT support with external vendors, oversee software administration, support organizational security practices, and continuously improve operational processes and workflows.
Office & Facilities Management: Oversee daily office operations, including office supplies, kitchen inventory, mail, facilities maintenance, vendor relationships, and ensuring staff have a welcoming, organized, and functional workplace.
Board Administration:Support the Board of Directors by coordinating meeting materials, board communications, annual compliance documentation, board stipends, conflict of interest forms, onboarding new board members, and other administrative processes.
Finance & Administrative Support:Assist with annual operational budgeting, expense management, accounts payable approvals through Bill.com, Spend & Expense administration, corporate credit card management, and coordination with the Finance and Accounting teams to support accurate financial operations.
Event Planning & Organizational Coordination: Coordinate logistics for organization-wide events, including the Staff Retreat, Annual General Meeting, and other internal gatherings that strengthen collaboration and organizational culture.
ABOUT YOU
Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented:You excel at managing multiple priorities, building efficient systems, and keeping projects on track. Your exceptional organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
Operations Minded:You enjoy creating structure, improving processes, and finding ways to help organizations operate more effectively. You're always looking for opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen operational systems.
Trusted & Discreet: You handle sensitive personnel, financial, and organizational information with professionalism, sound judgment, and the highest level of confidentiality.
Tech-Savvy & Systems-Oriented: You're comfortable learning and administering digital tools to improve organizational efficiency.
Collaborative & Service-Oriented: You enjoy supporting colleagues across departments, building positive working relationships, and ensuring everyone has the tools and support they need to succeed.
Mission-Driven:You are passionate about advancing housing justice and excited to contribute to an organization committed to racial equity, community ownership, and permanently affordable housing.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations, office management, human resources, nonprofit administration, or related experience.
