Job description

LEARNING SPECIALIST
You are required to live in New Mexico to be considered for this role. We are looking for multiple team members across New Mexico, particularly in rural areas.
The Learning Specialist supports design, development, and delivery of provider training and learning activities for rural health system transformation initiatives. Contributes to development of learning materials, training curricula, and facilitation strategies supporting both individualized and group-based technical assistance.
Designs and develops training content across formats, including webinars, toolkits, job aids, and self-paced learning resources. Applies adult learning theory and human-centered design principles to ensure content is accessible, relevant, and actionable for provider audiences.
Supports implementation of learning collaboratives and training sessions by coordinating materials, facilitating sessions, and managing participant engagement. Assists in tracking participation, feedback, and learning outcomes.
Coordinates with technical assistance teams, SMEs, and program leadership to align content with provider needs and program goals. Supports continuous improvement of training materials based on feedback and performance data.
Contributes to maintenance of training platforms, resource libraries, and learning management tools supporting statewide provider engagement.
Candidates should be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with their colleagues, clients, subcontractors, recipients, and their communities served. Ideal candidates will have a solid grounding in health service delivery, rural health, and experience working in and with rural and tribal populations. Spanish, Pueblo, Apache, or Navajo language is welcome but not required.
Up to 25% travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, education, instructional design, communications, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in training, instructional design, technical assistance, or capacity-building activities.
  • Experience developing training materials using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience supporting webinars, virtual learning platforms, and facilitation of group training sessions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly materials.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers or public health programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, webinar platforms, or training technologies preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced, implementation-focused environment.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$61,232.00 - $104,094.00
