Job description

As an Operations Training Coordinator, you'll be the crucial link in enabling Kodiak's autonomous fleet to run safely, efficiently, and reliably by partnering with the Operations Training Manager and building highly effective training programs. You will design and facilitate hands-on training programs for the Operations organization, covering everything from their day-to-day mission execution, asset management to safety protocols and technical systems. Critically, you will also be responsible for building out, updating, and maintaining training modules within our Learning Management System, Kodiak University. This role is highly dynamic and hands-on, requiring instructional leadership, technical awareness, and a relentless focus on maximizing team proficiency, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer satisfaction.

If you thrive in complex, fast-moving environments, love translating high-impact operational problems into effective learning solutions, and want to be at the frontlines of an industry-defining transformation, this role is for you.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and build comprehensive training modules for the Learning Management System (Kodiak University) focusing on operational processes, technical systems, and safety protocols for the Operations organization.
  • Update and maintain all existing training content within the LMS to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with the latest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system updates.
  • Facilitate engaging, hands-on training sessions (both in-person and virtual) for new hires and current operations personnel.
  • Conduct new-hire onboarding and continuous development programs to build operational discipline, urgency, and ownership within the team.
  • Coach, mentor, and assess trainee understanding and proficiency in safety, performance, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers, Supervisors and Leads, along with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to validate training content and align learning objectives with operational priorities.
  • Gather feedback and performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously iterate on training materials and facilitation methods.

What you'll bring:

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years experience designing, developing, and facilitating engaging training programs in an operations environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience administering, managing content within, and leveraging a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Litmos, Cornerstone, Docebo, or Absorb.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex operational workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into clear, concise, and effective training materials.
  • Experience in conducting needs assessments, evaluating training effectiveness, and applying data to improve future training iterations.

Background:

  • Demonstrated skill in developing scenario-based training that prepares operators to manage live operations, resolve high-stakes escalations, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of best practices and procedures within operational control centers, dispatch coordination, or multi-route fleet management to effectively train others.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Understanding of autonomous vehicle technology and the safety-critical roles of human operators (Command Center personnel, Remote Drivers, Safety Drivers) to accurately represent system functions and limitations.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various multimedia tools and software (Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Wondershare, PowerPoint) to create modern, engaging learning content for the LMS (Kodiak University).
  • Familiarity with industry-specific operational metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as uptime, on-time performance, and safety records, to align training outcomes with business goals.

Leadership Mindset:

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple training projects, module development deadlines, and facilitation schedules.
  • Acts as a change agent who confidently introduces new processes, systems, and operational SOPs by generating team buy-in and ownership.
  • Possesses a strong bias for action and problem-solving, applying a continuous improvement mindset to iterate on and refine training effectiveness based on operational data and feedback
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional leadership (Operations Managers, Supervisors, Leads, and Program Management) to ensure training strategy is aligned with broader company goals and safety imperatives.
