Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Cath Lab Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.
Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses and will be expected to support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.
To be successful in this role, you must be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
  • Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in in-service education.
  • Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
  • Evaluates care given by staff. Coaches to improve care. Ensures standard of care is maintained. Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel. Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
  • Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
  • Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations.
  • Utilizes the nursing process, including accurately assessing the patient's physical, emotional, spiritual, and learning needs.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ (RN:AZ)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (AHA-BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Skilled Working Knowledge of the EMR and hospital systems

Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
  • CVICU experience for Critical Care Charge Nurse
