Job Description

Our Sr. UX Design Strategists are responsible for leading engagements that deliver design solutions responsive to Business objectives/customer requirements, solving complex user experience challenges to improve overall service delivery and operational efficiency. The Sr. Designer is simultaneously a strong consultant and functional SME, serving as the voice of the customer/user to ensure users' needs along the full product value chain are considered and accurately translated into designs that support longer-term business success.  Designers must be able to develop and lead a comprehensive approach for user research and workflow analyses, data-informed design proposals, and prototype and test designs for product teams and business process improvements. Our Designers work extremely closely with client stakeholders and Product Owners/Product Managers to strategize and develop solutions, irrespective of operating systems (including Windows, Web, Android, and iOS) or platform, that also achieve process efficiencies and cost savings.  

Key Performance Expectations: 

  • Works to understand core Business objectives to provide user-centric solutions to advance service/product success. 

  • Participates in all aspects of the discovery process to understand: client mission and goals; stakeholders, users and their ecosystems; current state journeys; user segments; program and project objectives.  

  • Conducts user research to align the design approach for respective pain points and project objectives, using key artifacts (e.g., journey maps, service blueprints, ecosystem maps) to define, communicate, and develop a desired digital experience. 

  • Documents workflows and leads service blueprint development to reflect future-state user processes; build solution based on redesigned workflows, synchronizing functional needs of multiple users.  

  • Build the information architecture for multiple functions, creating a solution for multiple workflows/applications to create a singular user experience and the ability of different functional users to contribute to different services. 

  • Understand and embrace the specifications and constraints of a given technology, platform and/or operational environment.  

  • Works to unify product and engineering personnel behind a product design that caters to target audiences; shapes product development with Product Manager, Product Owner, Lead Engineer/Developer and other key stakeholders; builds/contributes Roadmaps with extended team, serving as a user advocate. 

  • Conducts workshops and interviews to help frame pain points and opportunities, define insights, validate hypothesis, and create a compelling experience vision. 

  • Translates gathered requirements into innovative design solutions that optimize for accessibility, scalability, and performance. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to present complex concepts in simple terms.

  • Develop and maintain design systems that ensure consistency across multiple (cloud-native) applications.

  • Work closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs and resolve any design-related issues during development.  

  • Ensure all deliverables across a variety of projects are produced at the highest quality.   

  • Organize and conduct UAT/user testing to validate intuitive interactions, customizations for user groups, and degree to which requirements meet Business and user needs.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of UI/UX design experience, with focus on technical products.  

  • Strong evidence of initiative, problem-solving, curiosity, strong analytical skills, and leadership for extended team. 

  • Current portfolio demonstrating methods, tools, skills, and craft required to develop complex enterprise application design and portal design for multiple applications for both external and internal users.  

  • Strong ability to plan, organize, and manage information and project tasks effectively for all phases of a project (end-to-end product development) and future iterations. 

  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience conducting primary and secondary user-research including user-interviews, discovery and co-creation workshops, heuristic evaluation, and card sorting (for example), and applying those insights to personas, journey maps, site maps, ecosystem maps, information architecture, and interface design. 

  • Develop information architecture for a portfolio or suite of products and applications that ensures alignment with customers/users' needs and Business goals. 

  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in UI design including wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, moderated and unmoderated user testing, and accessibility testing.  

  • Experience working on a scrum team within the Agile delivery framework and experience integrating research and design into technical sprints including writing user stories and story pointing. 

  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills for conveying design solutions; excellent written communication and collaborative nature. 

  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including service designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers.  

  • Proficiency in design/prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) Miro and product development tools like JIRA/Confluence, Azure DevOps. 

  • Knowledge of web and mobile design principles, responsive design, and accessibility best practices for digital platforms.
