Purpose:ย  To improve the quality of the educational program offered to exceptional children.

A.ย ย ย  Evidence of good mental and physical health.
ย ย ย  B.ย ย ย  Correct articulation and language use.
ย ย ย  C.ย ย ย  Attend and meet criteria of required inservice(s).
ย ย ย  D.ย ย ย  Keep aware of paraeducators information sent in newsletters and memos.
ย ย ย  E.ย  ย ย ย  Able to work in crowded, noisy environments.
ย ย ย  F.ย  ย ย ย  May require some travel.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 
ย ย ย  G.ย  ย ย ย  Must implement directions from the professional.
ย ย ย  H.ย  ย ย ย  Some lifting may be required.ย

Qualifications:
ย ย ย  A.ย ย ย  Carry out remedial or developmental activities as directed by the certified person.
ย ย ย  B.ย ย ย  Assist teachers and specialists in collection and preparation of instructional materials and equipment.
ย ย ย  C.ย ย ย  Work with (tutor) individual pupils.
ย ย ย  D.ย ย ย  Work with small groups.
ย ย ย  E.ย ย ย  Drill the entire class on follow-up or reinforcement activities.
ย ย ย  F.ย ย ย  Correct papers and check the work of students at the discretion of the instructor.
ย ย ย  G.ย ย ย  Measure and chart behavior for each target as directed by the supervisor.
ย ย ย  H.ย ย ย  Maintain a time log of activities, if necessary.
ย ย ย  I.ย ย ย  Assist with classroom housekeeping chores.
ย ย ย  J.ย ย ย  Prepare instructional aids, games, and bulletin boards at the discretion of the supervisor.
ย ย ย  K.ย ย ย  Perform various clerical duties within the classroom.ย  This may include data entry on computer.
ย ย ย  L.ย ย ย  Supervise students on buses and/or at dismissal and/or on field trips.
ย ย ย  M.ย ย ย  Supervise job training.
ย ย ย  N.ย ย ย  Assist in carrying out programs set up by support personnel (OT, PT, speech and Vocational)
ย ย ย  O.ย ย ย  Maintain good public relations with parents, supervisor and co-workers.
