Role Overview

The Senior Director of Talent Development leads the Learning and Development strategy for Mitsubishi Power Americas, supporting business units across the Americas. This role is responsible for building future-ready workforce capabilities through skills-based development, technology-enabled learning, and increased internal talent mobility. The position serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, overseeing talent programs aligned with long-term growth, including leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long-term talent development strategy aligned to business plans and growth objectives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing learning and development team serving as subject matter experts.
  • Serve as a thought leader and champion for talent development across the organization.
  • Partner with executive leadership to design scalable learning strategies for a workforce of 3,000+ employees.
  • Lead development and deployment of programs including onboarding, leadership development, career progression, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with HR and business unit leaders to deliver integrated talent programs and initiatives.
  • Act as an internal consultant to business leaders, including C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Analyze engagement data and performance metrics to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee succession planning and performance management processes with HR leadership.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in HR or organizational development, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise-level learning strategies and programs.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with business units and executive leadership in global environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and modern learning technologies including Copilot or similar tools.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel 15-20% as required.
