Collaborative Work EnvironmentAt PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. About the Job

Senior Talent Development Consultant

The Senior Talent Development Consultant plays a key role in designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful learning and leadership development experiences for PetSmart associates across Stores, Distribution Centers, and the Home Office. This role partners closely with HR and business leaders to identify development needs and create scalable, sustainable solutions that drive associate growth, leadership effectiveness, and business performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Consulting & Collaboration

        Partner with business leaders, program managers, and subject matter experts to assess talent development needs.

        Recommend and build appropriate solutions that align with business goals and drive measurable outcomes.

        Influence stakeholders to adopt learning solutions and support change initiatives.

Talent Development Design

        Design and develop engaging learning experiences across multiple modalities (eLearning, ILT, virtual, job aids, videos) that support both functional/technical and leadership development.

        Facilitate in-person and virtual learning sessions, workshops, and onboarding events for associates and leaders at various levels.

        Update and revise existing programmatic content to reflect changes in business priorities, policies, or best practices.

        Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to ensure high-quality, learner-centered experiences.

Project & Program Management

        Manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic priorities.

        Create and execute implementation plans that ensure adoption, sustainability, and a high-quality participant experience.

        Monitor logistics, communications, and enrollment for programs and events.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

        Use analytics and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

        Track learning impact on business performance and talent effectiveness.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

        None

Education and Experience:

        Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, or related field.

        3-5 years of experience in learning and development, with exposure to leadership development preferred.

        Strong instructional design, facilitation, and consulting skills.

Technical Skills:

        Strong facilitation, instructional design, and consulting skills.

        Proficiency in Articulate Storyline/Rise and Adobe Creative Suite.

        Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
