Key Responsibilities

The Manager, Retail Learning Design is responsible for designing, developing, and managing scalable learning experiences that support SKIMS Retail globally. This role serves as the operational backbone of the Retail Learning function—creating best‑in‑class digital and instructor‑led learning content, managing learning platforms and content governance, and establishing the processes, cadence, and operational discipline that ensure learning remains consistent, current, and aligned with enterprise priorities.

Working closely with the Senior Manager of Retail Training, this individual transforms business initiatives into engaging learning experiences while creating systems that measure effectiveness, maintain content quality, and support continuous improvement across our global retail teams.

Learning Design & Content Development
  • Design engaging digital and instructor‑led learning experiences that support onboarding, product knowledge, selling behaviours, leadership development, customer experience, and operational excellence.
  • Transform existing business content into scalable learning solutions across multiple learning formats.
  • Create facilitator guides, digital learning modules, micro‑learning, job aids, assessments, videos, storyboards, and supporting learning resources.
  • Simplify complex business initiatives into clear, engaging, and actionable learning experiences for retail audiences.
  • Develop content standards that ensure consistency across all retail learning materials.
  • Ensure all learning content reflects the SKIMS brand voice, culture, and service philosophy.
Digital Learning & Platform Management
  • Build, publish, and maintain learning content within Articulate Rise 360, LMS platforms, and future learning technologies.
  • Manage the organization, governance, and lifecycle of all digital learning assets.
  • Maintain learning templates, branding standards, and content architecture across platforms.
  • Leverage AI tools and emerging learning technologies to improve development efficiency and learner engagement.
  • Ensure all digital learning remains current, scalable, accessible, and globally adaptable.
Learning Operations & Content Governance
  • Establish operational processes and governance for retail learning content across all retail channels.
  • Own content version control, publishing schedules, review cycles, and content maintenance.
  • Create operational guardrails that ensure learning content remains accurate, consistent, and aligned globally.
  • Develop and manage learning calendars that support product launches, business priorities, and operational initiatives.
  • Support localization efforts and future international market expansion.
Learning Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop scalable tools and frameworks that measure learning effectiveness.
  • Build knowledge checks, assessments, reporting tools, and learner measurement strategies that support objective evaluation.
  • Create feedback mechanisms that enable Retail Leadership to assess training effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor learning metrics and recommend enhancements that improve learner engagement, knowledge retention, and business performance.
  • Ensure learning outcomes remain aligned with enterprise priorities and retail KPIs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate business initiatives into impactful learning experiences.
  • Collaborate throughout the content development and approval process to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Balance multiple stakeholder priorities while maintaining focus on enterprise objectives and learning standards.
  • Support the Head of Retail Training in executing strategic learning initiatives across the retail organization.
Project Management
  • Manage multiple learning development projects simultaneously from concept through launch.
  • Own project timelines, approvals, production schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure learning materials are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and are ready for launch.
  • Drive operational discipline and consistency throughout the learning development process.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiencies, and learning production processes.
Facilitation (Occasional)
  • Support virtual and in‑person learning sessions as business needs require.
  • Assist with train‑the‑trainer initiatives and field learning events.
  • Travel to stores and training events to support learning implementation when needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Retail Training, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in instructional design, retail learning, learning development, or training content creation.
  • Experience with Articulate Rise 360 or comparable eLearning authoring platforms.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable learning systems, content governance, or learning operations.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, instructional design, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience creating digital learning, facilitator guides, assessments, and blended learning solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and operational discipline.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, and AI productivity tools.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving retail environment.
  • Los Angeles‑based with the ability to travel up to 25%.
